I ran across this book by accident, and am not really sure how I ended up with it.The story is entertaining, but lacks a certain depth. I knew where it was going from the beginning, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Getting to the predictability can be very entertaining, and few authors have done it well.
What I really didn't care for is the semi-steamy romance aspect. Romance is fine, but when you get all steamy, to me, the religious aspect is questionable. The book almost wants to be a romance novel. I especially didn't care for the part where they're on the side of the road and he races her home to ... bed her. Although, it doesn't say such, the innuendo is clear.
I think the first introduction of God is a bit forced, and many of the religious aspects seemed forced to me. The intro of God into the scene was not smooth or natural. That is not to say they all are, but several are.
I would have liked to see a little more depth of the story and less "lips rubbed against" hers. There are many romance novels out there for people to go and find that sorta thing.
Characters were likeable, and it's an entertaining read.

Absolutely loved this book. I fell in love with Dylan myself. Who wouldn't. Great book!
I love romance books the best.
It was a nice clean book, interesting in some parts but not believable in others. It was unrealistic how Sondra wanted to be independent even at times when she couldn't. For example when she was in labor and is dropped off at the hospital by Dylan and she wants him to leave her at the parking lot and go away. Her independence at times was over stretched. Apart from that i enjoyed it
Here is a sweet story of two people who keep misinterpreting things around them making the reader laugh at times. Sweet and tender. Perfect story to read on a lazy day.

This was a wonderful story of a young woman & young man thrown together because of a friend's last will. A partnership that is to be for one year. Keep his ranch profitable, as it was while he was alive. As strangers they don't start out liking each other much, or the spot they are put into. But it's in the will, so they have to make the best of it. Otherwise they don't get what has been offered. But it is God's Will that really matters in this story. I really enjoyed this story and how it all turns out. Thank you Ms. Hake
Well, I did like this, and the last half of the book was rather sweet. I did like both characters and thought it was sweet that Dylan wanted to take care of Sondra and her baby. I thought the ending of saving the ranch and falling in love was sweet. But the first half of the book tended to get on my nerves. I did not like how demanding and pushy Dylan was. If he had acted that way around me when I was pregnant with my son, I would have punched him in the nose!
But I got over it. The ending was so sweet (except for the snake - yuck and weird), that I had to give this book a good rating.
This is a story about a rancher Dylan and a city-girl, Sondra Thankful. Sondra had lost her husband after a couple months of marriage. She was pregnant with their first child and his family wouldn't have anything to do with her. They didn't think their son, could father a child because he was paralyzed. She found a friend, Miller, who helped her through some tough times. Upon his death he left the ranch and most of his property to Sondra except a parcel that he gave to Dylan, but in order to inherit it, they had to after a year, show a profit the same as before, or they could simply marry to inherit all of it. They were thrown together in a tough situation.
As you turn the pages of this book, you will laugh, cry and become frustrated with the both of them. In my opinion it is a well-written book when you want to become part of the lives of the characters and that is what happens in this book. It is a book filled with love, trust, and faith. There are no language issues. Well worth the read.
